For the Moms


Even if you’ve never been a mom, you know a mom. And we all know how busy moms are. Between running the home and family, feeding everybody, and for many moms, holding down a fulltime job as well.  Moms may be the busiest people around. However, I have never met a mom that didn’t want to be in great shape, and the reality of the situation is that the more physically healthy you are, the more energy you have for the rest of your life. In the case of a mother, that extra energy is important for being able to take care of the million other things that you’re responsible for!

For those who are moms and who are always concerned with fitting P90X in their jam-packed schedule, I think that the 10 Minute Trainer is an excellent workout alternative for P90X.  You can be changed for your workout, complete the workout and be showered and dressed again all in under half an hour. 10 Minute Trainer was developed by Tony Horton, who also designed P90X, so you know you’ll get results. If you’re worried that you won’t get results in a ten minute workout, don’t be. Tony uses a method called “Super Stacking” that means that every movement you do combines cardio and strength training of a particular section at the same time so that you get the most efficient workout possible. You can also make your workout even more efficient by utilizing some of the other 10 Minute Trainer products as well. Any way that you look at it, if you’re a busy mom, a workout that shows results with only a ten minute workout is like a gift from the gods.  Even the busiest of moms can spare 10 minutes to squeeze in that workout.  Face it, that 10 minute workout will allow you to break away from the craziness of motherhood.  I don’t know about you, but my workout time is my “me” time!

I think I should recommend Shaun T’s Hip Hop Abs for busy moms too. Don’t let the name fool you. Just because the workout focuses primarily on getting a great midsection, it doesn’t mean that you won’t be doing full body fat burning cardio through many of the workouts. Most of the workouts are only 30 min. long and, most importantly, they’re fun workouts. If you’re a mom, chances are your day involves a lot of stress, and some “fun time” is just what you deserve.

TurboFire is Beachbody’s newer program and is also a great workout for moms. The workouts consist of intense cardio-based exercises that involve the “H.I.I.T” philosophy (High Intensity Interval Training).  Similar to what I said about Hip Hop Abs, TurboFire is fast-pace and loads of fun, which for a busy mom can be a great get-away from all the stress.  If you love great music to dance to and feel sexy, then TurboFire is the workout for you!

Finding time to workout can be hard for anybody, but it’s even harder if you’re a mom with a million other people’s schedules to worry about and being the CEO of the household on top of that. Try out the three workouts above, and you may find yourself demanding that your family leave you alone for workout time!  Plus, what mom doesn’t want to be the sexiest mom on the block!?

  1. Love how you address a mom's needs. I have a lot of friends who are mothers who say they just don't have the time. What's 30 minutes? Or even better yet...10 minutes? That's a small price to pay to be able to watch your kids grow up and feel fabulous in the process. Thanks for sharing.
